Racialized Youth Summit
Friday, May 29, 2026
The third annual NB Racialized Youth Summit, taking place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at St. Thomas University will bring together racialized learners from grades 10-12, school champions, and community advocates from across New Brunswick for a day of dialogue, collaboration, and action. Building on the momentum of previous years, the summit creates a vital platform for racialized youth to share their lived experiences, amplify their voices, and collectively shape a more inclusive and equitable future within the province. This year’s summit focuses on the anti-racism recommendations put forward by Dr. Manju Varma, New Brunswick’s first Anti-Racism Commissioner. Through interactive workshops, and facilitated group sessions, participants will critically engage with these recommendations, exploring how they can be meaningfully implemented across institutions, communities, and systems.
The summit also offers concurrent workshops for community leaders, educators, advocates, and school champions, a space to dialogue on how to best support racialized youth in New Brunswick schools. These workshops will be led by experts in EDI with lived experience, roles in promoting inclusive policies and best practices within the NB education system.
With a focus on collective responsibility and resilience, this summit will emphasize that the power to make change lies in the hands of today’s youth, highlighting that the time for action is now. Participants are encouraged to think locally, act globally, and collaboratively create space for everyone.
